About Me

Hello there reader! My name is Maggie :) Born in California but raised in South Dakota, I've always been a traveler. I'm a 2014 university graduate that loves teaching! More specifically secondary English Education.

After graduating I accepted a job at an international school in Cairo, Egypt. This was a fun and challenging experience in many ways. After 3 months I chose to return home for a number of reasons (you can check out the blog post here).

Since returning to good old South Dakota, I took up substitute teaching and covered two separate maternity leaves taking me to the end of my first year of teaching. I now teach English 9 and 11 at a nearby high school. In addition I teach journalism and advise the yearbook.

My blog encompasses all aspects of my life: teaching, family, travels, food, etc. I hope you'll come along for the ride! :)

If you'd like to read about my study abroad experience in 2013, click here! I lived in Valencia, Spain but made my way through other parts of Europe as well :)
