Readjusting, Relaxing, and Redefining

Of course it wasn't nearly as hard to adjust to coming home as it is to move somewhere else! I took about a week to get my sleep cycle back to normal and feel like a human being again (jet lag really is killer).

I also spent a couple days up at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN getting my health back on track with Mom, Claire, and Luke. One thing I'm particularly thankful for here at home is the exemplary health care I receive at Mayo.

Back at home I applied to substitute teach both in Brandon, where I completed my student teaching, and in Sioux Falls. I'm happy to share that I've already started subbing at Brandon, and its particularly fun to run into students I had last year :)

One of my favorite things to add back into my routine is going to Mass with my dad. In the course of my three months in Egypt, I was only able to attend Mass twice (once in Cairo and once when I was on vacation in Austria). It feels particularly good to be back at my parish where my faith can grow openly.

Though I plan to substitute teach as often as I can (hopefully Monday-Friday between Brandon and Sioux Falls), I am also planning to take time and make some lifestyle changes. I'm looking forward to getting my money's worth out of my new gym membership and using My Fitness Pal to track my food and activity. I figure the more people that know, the more accountable I will feel to make some progress! ;)

Thank you all so much for your positive thoughts and prayers during the time I was abroad and now that I am back. I only have the courage to make the decisions I do because I know I have a wonderful support system always behind me :)
